Cuomo is Poising for a Massive Tax Increase [ALERT]

Poising for Poison

Cuomo is getting ready to promote a Jobs Bill, which, not unlike Obama’s trillion dollar stimulus that created no new jobs, is just a massive tax increase.  Where is our “fiscally responsible” GOP?  Poising to sell it’s rapidly diminishing soul for a few precious seats in the unilaterally-decided (read: Cuomo’s) redistricting plan.  Read it here:  http://insidewnypolitics.com/

This just in:  “Yesterday, Cuomo said that New York needs the hikes because it’s ‘the progressive capital of the nation.’  Well, of course it is. That’s why the demand for more taxes never ends: All that “progressivism” must be paid for.  Read more at the New York Post: Andrew’s surrender

Another Losing Proposition
The State’s revenues are collapsing because the taxpayer-funded public sector is bigger than the taxpaying private one, and the insatiable blob refuses to put itself on a diet.  Governor Andrew Cuomo’s answer?  Bleed more money out of the populace to fund infrastructure, work which will only be available to taxpayer-funded Unions, and legalize gambling.

BRILLIANT.

Gambling casinos essentially always causes poverty and blight upon surrounding communities — even the Florida Governors Report (of around the year 2000) found that for every $1 that comes from gambling casinos, a whopping $12.50 is spent on
-extra police enforcement
-welfare for families whose members spend the farm
-rehab & recovery programs
-bankruptcies, and other types of strain on the judicial system
Trumping the Seneca Nation with State-sponsored gambling, they will fill the casinos with dues-paying Union employees and the Democrats will have a perpetual slush fund with which to fill their campaign coffers.

Voter Fraud
I seriously feel as if we are wasting our time, money and effort engaging in political campaigns until the electronic machines can be properly tested and prohibited from being tampered with.  Please get in on the effort to proactively address the problem.  Here’s what you can do:

1– Read the Petition for a Redress of Grievances, which addresses Bailouts, the unlawful Fed and Public Debt, and Voter Fraud among other things.
2– If you agree, scroll down and sign the Statement of Beliefs
3– Share it with family and friends
4– Get in on a webinar with Bob Schulz’ Constitution Lobby this Wednesday night.

Swift Justice
Alan Bedenko and Chris Smith, the same blokes who accused Carl Paladino of sending unethical emails (who, as it turns out, were guilty of maliciously crafting such emails to defame others in the past) are at it again — throwing around false information to defame Carl, and using the otherwise halfway decent rag Artvoice to do it.  So much for honesty and integrity in reporting anymore.  Carl’s response?  Pull all ads, and prohibit the distribution of ArtVoice in any Ellicott Development properties.  Kudos, Carl.  More here:  The Caputo Arrest Curious

Support the REINS Act
The REINS Act would begin to restore Congress’s proper role in the creation of rules that govern the country by requiring executive agencies to submit major rulemaking proposals (with an economic impact over $100 million) to Congress for review and a clear up-or-down vote and a presidential signature before the rules take effect.  Continue reading, and send an email or letter to your reps here, at Americans for Prosperity.

NLRB SOB’s
On November 30th, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) voted to ambush elections.
“…the Board is seeking to dramatically shorten the election time period for all cases, something organized labor has long sought because it means employees will have less time to hear any point of view other than the union’s.”

I don’t know about you, but we are getting dizzy with daily revelations of violations to our civil liberties, confrontations of ignorance, apathy and immorality, and new burdens to contend with.

We need to work as if everything depends on us, and pray as if everything depends on God (well, because it does).  If you missed it, make sure you catch Some Really Amazing People (I keep remembering people and adding them daily!), and please make time to spend some time together with us at our Annual Holiday Potluck on January 6th.  And please don’t float away, though Lord knows we’re tempted to!

One Response to Cuomo is Poising for a Massive Tax Increase [ALERT]

  1. TEANewYork says:

    FYI:
    Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting me to express support for H.R. 10, the Regulations From the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter, as well as your patience in awaiting my response.

As you know, federal agencies implement the laws passed in Congress by issuing regulations and rules. Every year, agencies propose and adopt thousands of rules to successfully carry out their responsibilities. Although there are certainly times when an agency’s rule making process occasionally results in a regulation that does not fit the intent of the law, I am concerned that the REINS Act would hamper the ability of federal agencies to carry out their duties and turn Congress into a regulatory agency at a time when we already face significant challenges in carrying out our legislative duties.

Currently, major rules proposed by federal agencies can be overturned by Congress through a process established by the Congressional Review Act. Under that process, a Member of Congress introduces a resolution of disapproval for a regulation within 60 legislative days of its submission to Congress. The regulation is then nullified if the resolution is ever adopted into law.

The REINS Act would change this process by requiring Congress to approve all major rules issued by federal agencies within 70 legislative days of their proposal. The bill includes an exception that allows a rule to take effect for 90 days without approval if the President can show that the rule is necessary because of an imminent threat to health or safety or other emergency, for the enforcement of criminal laws, for national security, or to implement an international trade agreement.

Rest assured that I will keep your views in mind should this legislation come to the House floor for my consideration.

Again, thank you for sharing your opinion and please do not hesitate to contact me again. I encourage you to sign up for my e-newsletter – the “Louise Line” – for periodic updates on my work on your behalf in Washington, by clicking here.

    Sincerely,

    Louise M. Slaughter
    [Congresswoman, NY-28]
