Blame the TEA Party!! ..& help needed today [ALERT: 9Aug2011]

Shelly Schratz urgently needs your help!!

Can you help her in the next day or two get signatures on her independent nominating petition for the Erie County Legislature’s new District 5?  You don’t have to live in the district, you only need to be a registered voter, and you will be getting signatures from registered voters, no matter their party affiliation.

As an elected official in the Town of Amherst for eight years, Shelly was a hands-on, boots on the ground councilwoman, who listened well and understood the needs of the residents.  Between street lights, negotiating with Erie County over undistributed sewer taxes and various other initiatives, she saved the people of her district $25,000,000.00.  She also introduced a sex offender bill which prohibited sex offenders from living within a quarter mile of a school, park or playground, and now every municipality in the entire state of New York has followed suit.

With the new downsizing taking effect this election cycle, Shelly’s only opponent would be Democrat Tommy Loughran, if not for the possibility of another candidate moving into her district, where Shelly has lived for 30 years.

Shelly needs to know she has the support of the people.

The petition process doesn’t end til mid-September, but she would like to have a substantial number of signatures in hand for a meeting with the committee.  If you have time to get some signatures for her in the next two days, to present her well-supported candidacy, please contact her ASAP at shellyschratz@gmail.com.

Times: Approximately b/t 10am and 8pm Tuesday and Wednesday, August 8 & 9th.

Thank you!!

The Blame Game
“What caused the United States to lose its AAA rating for the first time in 94 years, a rating that withstood two world wars, the Great Depression and (most of) the Great Recession, and a costly military buildup that bankrupted and demolished our Cold War foe, the Soviet Union, without a direct shot fired?  Was it the dastardly Tea Party, with its demands for fiscal sanity and a solution to an oncoming tsunami of entitlement liabilities?  According to the man who rates sovereign debt for the agency that downgraded the US….”   NO!!!

“…The hardest obstacle to overcome will be the idea that anyone who challenges the prevailing consensus of the past 50 years is irrational and irresponsible. That is what is being said about the Tea Partiers. In fact, what is irrational and irresponsible is the assumption that we can go on as we are.”
