Medicaid Petition
We need as many signatures as possible on a petition to transfer the cost of Medicaid from the counties to the State, who buries us under impossible mandates, ASAP.

We have created an on-line petition here.

Please share it with EVERYONE, not just your fellow Reformers!! Your one signature is appreciated, but what is really needed, is for you to strap your boots on, and email it to as many New Yorkers as you can. The deadline is February 23rd.

The petition has been updated with a note about the Opt-Out Plan, and a link to NYSAC’s explanation, who is the originator of the petition.

There are only 82 signatures on it as of now — but I think it’s because people are not sharing it, or they’ve stopped. On the petition itself, it allows you to really easily share it on Facebook — but it caps you at about a dozen. Then you can do it again the next day, and every day thereafter. We Got People! ..around the State — let’s put a push on!

If you’re really feeling energetic, you can print up hard copies and take them to work, or do as Ellie did and get 50 signatures by standing in the Mall! You can download it here. Please gather as many as you can, from anywhere in the State, and get them to Ellie Corcoran by February 23rd. Contact her for her mailing address at ecorcoran1@roadrunner.com.

Thank you!!

Without you, the status quo reigns
A Message from Rus Thompson:

There comes a time when all of us have to take a stand and the time is now. For a couple years now, we have been talking about the Elections of 2012, how finally we will have our chance to influence the political process and get our candidate, not the “party” candidate to run for President. Well the Party, the status quo, the political elite are pushing Rino Romney on us and only with the TEA Party help will we be able to finally fend them off and get our candidate to go one- on- one with the absolute worst president this country has ever seen.

There are only 4 candidates left in the primary and it is time for New Yorkers to pick one and ride them to victory in the NY Primary that is being held April 24th so we have to build a infrastructure here, now in New York. During the Paladino for Governor campaign we made history. Never before had a grassroots movement totally destroyed the Party choice, never. We can do it when we put our heads together and work in unison as we did for the Republican Primary two years ago. You showed it can be done. We need to show them that we still have it here in NY.

Carl Paladino and I have decided to join the Newt campaign. We feel Newt is the only real chance we have to defeat Obama and the status quo in the republican hierarchy. We are asking that you join us and help us build the grassroots, TEA Party momentum to help Newt win here in New York State. If you’re with us, please respond and join us. If you are uncommitted, please consider getting behind Newt and join us. If you’re a leader of a TEA Party, ask your group… who supports who… and help us build an organization to defeat the status quo candidate Romney in NY.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for all you’re doing. Without you, the status quo reigns.

Rus Thompson

Please wish Rus Thompson a Happy Birthday — His Bday is Saturday, February 11th!! You can do so on Facebook, or send him an email at rusthompson@roadrunner.com.

Have we been Rick Rolled?
Yipes!
Check this out, on YouTube. Rick Santorum suggesting the Tea Party has “re-fashioned” conservatism, and committing to vocally and publicly oppose it. True conservatives are just so few and far between.

Feel free to send Rick a note, to info@ricksantorum.com, as I did:

I thought I was most closely aligned with you, largely because of your socially conservative values — but for the life of me I can’t understand why you didn’t seem to fully grasp the gravity of the debt limit, and how essential it is to scale back — which, among other things, renders your fiscal conservatism null and void. And then to learn of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irxKyVmprBc&feature=player_embedded is just disappointing, and I have to wonder why you are asking for our help.

We are not “re-fashioning” conservatism. We are trying, with great difficulty, to restore it.
Has there been a retraction to this statement?

Signed,
XXXXX

P.S. I just now heard him on the radio giving deference to conservatives and Tea Party folks…

Judgment is upon us
The politicians who quoted Isaiah 9:10 after the 9/11 terror attacks probably meant it as encouragement. But the new book “The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America’s Future” explains that the verse actually is a statement of defiance to God — a nation essentially thumbing its nose at the Almighty… [In the aftermath of 9-11, Tom Daschle] thinks he’s offering comforting words to a grief-stricken people, but he is actually embracing the spiritually defiant and arrogant words of the children of Israel, proclaiming the ancient and ominous vow of the leaders of that nation. He doesn’t realize it, but he is actually inviting more judgment on the nation.

It might be of some significance that Daschle, one of the most powerful men in the nation when he spoke those words, later fell into disgrace – to the point where he couldn’t even serve in Barack Obama’s cabinet.”

Then on the third anniversary of 9-11, VP nominee John Edwards makes the same mistake. Read about it here,
Tea Party candidate Karen Bisso of Plattsburgh has announced she will be squaring off against Janet Duprey, another RINO bamboozled by the crazy notion that government has the right to redefine marriage. Karen informally announced that she will be running in what is now the 115th Assembly District on January 28th, and will officially announce on February 15th — so more information will be available after then.

Grisanti Goin’ Down
Senator Mark Grisanti stood to benefit greatly from the new gerrymandering plan, because with the new snake-like reconfiguration stretching all the way from Grand Island to Brant, bottlenecking by the Ford plant where he’ll represent six or so windmills and a few passing seagulls just to connect the snake, he is now sitting in a district with a previously 5 to 1, now 2 to 1 Democrat voter advantage.

State Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long refuses to give him an endorsement after his gay marriage vote — so his fellow RINO’s simply rewired his district, leaving out Niagara County, so he only needs the blessing of Ralph Lorigo of the Erie County Conservative Party. Well, more specifically, Billy Delmont, the man behind the curtain, who has a long sordid history of endorsing liberals over conservatives, because…well? Playing politics trumps standing on principle in a sin-wracked world, and because 50+ years of rapid socio-economic decline under liberals just isn’t enough for some, in this once beautiful region of Western New York.

However, Ralph Lorigo surprises us on occasion, and we may just have a solid candidate we can rally around, “as a blast from the past comes to the forefront as a contender,” to send Mark back to private practice, according to an interesting new source for insider info, InsideWNYPolitics.com.

Priority #1
The Light and the Glory by Peter Marshall and David Manuel documents the rich never-before-read-or-heard history of how God had a plan in our nation’s founding, and how he miraculously intercedes as a result of fervent prayer by just a few individuals. Why are we not all assembling on a regular basis to pray?

We need to pray as concerned citizens and a community of committed believers, or what Oliver DeMille might call a tribe, in another important book called FreedomShift. Are we not aware that we can do nothing apart from God? We are fraught with frailty and stuck on stupid, but God has a plan and desires to richly bless us, if only we would turn, get on our knees and pray.

The US government’s gun smuggling ring “Operation Fast & Furious,” created to sneak in gun control on unsuspecting gun owners without ever having to pass legislation, has so far resulted in the deaths of at least three Americans. Attorney General Eric Holder lied about his knowledge of the operation, and he and the ATF need to be held accountable.

OWS & the planned “endgame” for the U.S.
by Joe & Doug Hagman

Are you baffled by the wording, timing and bipartisan support of recent legislation such as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the Expatriation Act, SOPA, PIPA and ACTA? Are you concerned over the enhancement of domestic security measures that appear to be targeting and incrementally ripping away the rights of law abiding American citizens? Are you concerned about the evolving DHS “domestic extremist” definitions? Have you wondered about the true origins of the financial crises and what appears to be a quickening of events in all sectors of our lives? How about the origins of the current “Occupy Movement?” When and why everything started? Who and what is to blame? If so, you’re not alone.

We conducted an extensive investigation of the occupy movement to identify the people involved, as well as the money and influence behind it. What we found is that nothing related to the “Occupy Movement” is what it appears. In fact, nothing from Arab Spring, to DHS policy and beyond is what it appears to be. We found unsettling relationships between people, elected and appointed officials, groups, and organizations that extend back many years.

Investigative integrity demands a deliberate blindness to political party affiliations, but not ignorance to political associations. Consequently, our results will most assuredly anger many on both sides of the political aisle. If it does, we’ll know that we’ve done our job. Our findings might also brand us as conspiracy theorists too. If so, we’ll know that we’ve done our job well. Our findings are bound to make some people nervous. We hope they do, as we will then know that we’ve put our investigative skills and experience to good use.

Based on our investigative findings, we have arrived at a very startling and irrefutable conclusion. We are witnessing the orchestrated destruction of America. Soon, in the streets of the U.S., we will see some of the most violent events in modern history take place, likely to result in the implementation of public curfews, restrictions on travel, and possibly even Martial Law. That appears to be the plan. It is not a new plan, but one that has been in the works since the early twentieth century. We have created an in-depth report that reveals the individuals and groups behind these events, their motives, tactics and methods. The following is a summary of that report and our investigative findings.

“Occupy” is a sophisticated operation

To call the Occupy Movement a “movement” is to do it an injustice. We have found that it is an operation launched by the very same people who should be the actual targets of the protesters. Instead, it is the one percent global elite who are organizing, directing, and funding the operation behind the scenes. Their purpose is to create chaos and deflect the blame away from the actual financial terrorists to targets of lesser importance.

It is exactly this chaos that served as justification of the recent legislation redefining domestic extremists. The financial looting of America and other sovereign nations by the big banks, politicians and crony capitalists is beginning to unravel. When the curtain is pulled back and the true perpetrators are exposed, there will be rampant chaos in the streets of America. The politicians, bankers, Federal Reserve, and other individuals of prominence and perpetrators know this. Consequently, the U.S. government enacted legislation in anticipation of the public outrage.

Empathy as a tactic

Most of us can empathize with the 99 percent as we are the 99 percent to the extent that we are not among those societal elites with great wealth, power, influence and who are seemingly above the law who are responsible for the ills of our society.

It is not only easy to generate empathy from such a large pool of people, it is the primary tactic of this operation. After all, it is you, the readers, and us, the investigators who work increasingly longer hours just to keep up with expenses, trying to pay our bills on time while the elite exhibit unprecedented hubris and vile contempt for the masses. Sympathy for them? Hardly. Accordingly, it is easy to identify with the “99 percent” while setting aside other differences.

Definitions changed

In the case of the occupy operation, definitions of the opposing groups have been deliberately and maliciously changed by the media, social and political commentators, and the orchestrators of the operation. The “one percent” are not those who earn more than $506,000 per year as defined by The Wall Street Journal, but are a much more elite group of individuals. Therein lies the first layer of obfuscation intentionally created and constantly repeated by the covert powers behind the occupy operation.

Additionally, legitimate capitalism, which is the financial backbone of America and has been responsible for the success of our great nation – not its downfall, has been purposely demonized by its merger with crony capitalism. Crony capitalism is the incestuous bonding between business and government, the use of influence, inside information, and other illegal and immoral activity that enriches those in government and private individuals. It is this intentional merging of legitimate and crony capitalism that obfuscates the problem and provides a layer for protection for the crony capitalists themselves.

Perhaps one of the most important factors that must be fully understood is this: crony capitalism transcends political parties and creates some very interesting alliances. Accordingly, one must remove the blinders of political partisanship to understand that the Democrat-Republican paradigm has been successfully destroyed nearly beyond recognition – and perhaps to the point of no return. Unfortunately, too few are willing to do so, claiming that such assertions belong in the bin of historical conspiracy nonsense. Some are unwilling due to lack of investigation or understanding, while others refuse as they reap rewards of financial gain and positions of power.

History is key

Most trace the beginning of the American occupy operation to the September 2011 occupation of Zuccotti Park in New York City by individuals protesting economic inequality. Within a month, similar protests were taking place in nearly 600 communities in the U.S. and 95 cities worldwide.

Much like the inappropriately termed “Arab spring.” we were told by the media that these protests benefitted the oppressed, were largely spontaneous and without any leadership or organizational structure beyond the occasional tweet or mention in the social media. While right-wing talk show hosts, pundits and bloggers described occupy group members as human flea circuses in need of discipline and a good shower, the left presented them as courageous people taking a stand against social injustice created by a rigged economic system.¬†

Although there are elements of truth in each description, both sides are guilty of failing to break free of their political bias to provide their respective audiences the unadulterated truth about the occupy operation. As a result, unnecessary polarization among Americans is heightened by their words and writings, many who could relate to the injustices but had little sympathy for those who are denied justice. In some cases, the political pundits have become unwitting participants of the growing social divide, playing directly into the hands of the operation’s architects. In other cases, they are willful facilitators working with them.

All one has to do is to look at history to learn that “the 99 percent” was first referenced in 1947 within UNESCO (an acronym for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), an arm of the United Nations.¬† It was referenced by the mother of all globalist entities, the UN, in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The importance of the slogan as used in the last century through the present cannot be underestimated. We must recognize that the distinction, as well as the general ideology behind it, originates from the same template used by Woodrow Wilson, Colonel Mandel House, FDR, the United Nations, activists of the 1960s through today.

The financial model that has exacerbated the economic train wreck of America can also be traced to the United Nation’s Monetary and Financial Conference (or Bretton Woods Conference) in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. John Maynard Keynes of England and Harry Dexter White of the United States, drafted a plan to stabilize the world economy. The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) was drafted and ultimately signed in 1947, and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (a/k/a the World Bank) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) were established.

Keynesian economics, which advocate a strong government role in private commerce and a favorite of globalists, is the current economic model in use by this administration. The path was also paved by such bipartisan financial initiatives as NAFTA, the SPP and the like.

Looking closer at those who were in positions of power and influence during pivotal points in history, and who had and have influence within our government during the passage of such legislation as NAFTA, the SPP, as well as the more draconian legislation such as the NDAA and others laws, both today and in history, we found direct ties to controversial organizations such as the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the attendees of the Bildeberg Group. It is our professional opinion, based on extensive research, timelines and contacts, that these groups exist solely for the “one percent,” and the members set the agenda in the U.S. and globally. One might chuckle at the thought and call it nonsense, but the evidence proves otherwise.

When the operational layers are pulled back, we begin to see that the cries for changing the economic inequities that spawned previous and recent financial crises are actually being made under the umbrella of world governance.

1968: A look into our future

The more things change, the more they remain the same. Remember the riots of 1968? Our findings suggest that they will pale in comparison to what is on the immediate horizon.

The decade of the sixties saw the re-birth of Marxist-Communist groups such as the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), The Weathermen (or Revolutionary Youth Movement), the Progressive Labor Party, the Black Panther Party (BPP), the Communist Party USA (CP-USA), and the Nation of Islam (NOI).

A paperback book published by U.S. News & World Report in 1970 titled Communism and the New Left describes demonstrators embracing leaders such as Che Guevara, Castro, and Mao Tse-tung as the civil unrest of the late 1960s unfolded. The compilation of magazine reports link the 1968 protests, for example, with the resurgence of Marxist and Communist principles, and further link the leadership of the protesters with those ideologies.

Those specifically identified include individuals such as Bernadine Dohrn and Willaim Ayers, names that are very familiar today. Additionally, our research of specific history from the McCarthy era prove that the subversive groups have joined forces, are acting under the same leadership and have many of the same idols as today.

A half-century ago, the protestors and domestic terrorists were Dohrn, Ayers and their associates. They were the exuberant dupes at a time when globalism was still in its infancy.

Today, they are the mid-level leaders, along with some new associates, while working in positions of education and influence. Dohrn, for example, is an Associate Professor at the Northwestern University School of Law

The occupy operation and crony capitalism: the “perfect storm”

The Occupy Movement of today would not likely exist were it not for the rampant crony capitalism and various bipartisan legislation of the last century. Crony capitalism is an effective method of ushering in the “New World Order,” to the extent that it is this crony capitalism that facilitates the perceived need for financial globalization, or the centralization of money, power wealth to protect against such exploitation of the financial system. But it is critical to understand that this crisis was engineered from the foundation laid throughout recent history.

It is the perfect linking between the ideology of the globalists with a strong propensity for Keynesian economics, crony capitalism as facilitated in the U.S. by the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, numerous lawmakers, with the tactics of Saul Alinsky, and the ultimate leadership from the executive branch to Progressive foot soldiers and actual domestic terrorists including, but not limited to William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and others.

Much has taken place that set up the perfect storm of today. From Woodrow Wilson to Nixon, Bush, Clinton and Obama, from the establishment of the Federal Reserve to the repealing of the Glass-Steagall Act, the environment that exists today was made for the looting of America.

One must keep in mind that the stage was set by both Republicans and Democrats, former and current occupants of the House and Senate, along with each President over the last century that brought us to this point. At the top of the domestic pyramid are the very people who are members of the shadowy groups previously referenced. Individuals such as George Soros, for example, who has actively underwritten the destruction of the United States. The agenda is being accomplished through large banks and investment firms, including but not limited to Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase and others considered¬† “too big to fail.”

One has to be either intellectually impaired or disingenuous to not see the role Goldman Sachs alumni have played in the financial destruction of America. One glaring example is Jon Corzine of the MF Global crime scene. There are many others.

The Obama factor

One of the final stages of the globalist agenda, however, occurred with the selection of a virtual unknown community organizer from Chicago with a Marxist-Communist ideology and heritage to be the President of the U.S.  Barack Hussein Obama, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, was also groomed for his current position by the powers of the CFR and Trilateral Commission. Specifically, it was Zbigniew Brzezinski and David Rockefeller who served as his foreign policy advisors.

Few questioned who and what was behind the meteoric rise of a virtual unknown junior senator from Illinois. In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to select members of her district at the home of two previously referenced figures: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

The media was forgiving when it was disclosed that Obama, as an Illinois state senator in 2001, accepted a $200 contribution from Ayers, a founding member of the group that bombed the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon during the 1970s.

The media stood firm that there was virtually no connection between Obama and Ayers, who also penned his memoir, “Fugitive Days” which was published in 2001. They also glossed over Ayers’ comments published in the September 11, 2001 edition of The New York Times when he said: “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.”

The media and Obama “fact-checking” web sites downplayed the fact that Ayers and Obama served together for three years on the nine-member board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago based nonprofit. They also downplayed their joint appearance on two academic panels in 1997 and 2001. Like Dohrn, Ayers served as a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The media was first absent then forgiving to candidate Barack Hussein Obama when the flag of Che Guevara, an Argentine Marxist revolutionary was hanging in plain view on the wall of one of Obama’s campaign offices in early 2008. They were equally forgiving about the ornament that featured the portrait of Mao Tse-tung hanging on the 2009 White House Christmas Tree. It appeared that few understood the implications represented by that image alone, and the “change” that was intended for the U.S.

The corporate media and progressives in power and public influence deflected any due diligence background investigation of this unknown by frequently calling upon the race issue, which remains a very effective tactic today. Yet, the legitimate questions that have been asked yet never answered have absolutely nothing to do with race, but of concern for our country.

It would do us well to look twice at those who mock and ridicule anyone who questions the legitimacy of Barack Hussein Obama as President. The reader might find this difficult to believe after the onslaught of media assertions to the contrary, but the simple fact is that we really do not know who we have put in the White House, including his legal name. Obama was never properly vetted, and despite claims to the contrary, never submitted an actual hardcopy of his long form birth certificate to any legitimate body for review and examination. Just saying he did does not make it so.

Furthermore, why the secrecy surrounding the release of his other records? Passport records, school records, and so on? Why has he spent so much money fighting their release? Ridicule if you must, Obama would not pass any background investigation we would perform for a position on any board of directors of a Fortune 100 company in light of what little he has personally provided, along with his refusal to turn over other records related to his past. Yet, he sits in the White House at such a precipitous time in our history. His placement there was no accident, and his election was not some serendipitous event in U.S. history.

Meanwhile, crony capitalism – birthed by the creation of the Federal Reserve and exploited by career politicians and their financial counterparts- made significant inroads over the last few decades, exacerbating pre-existing societal divides. A “perfect storm” is now brewing.

Now, when the terrorist ideology of the radical left is combined with the effects of crony capitalism, we have a much more fertile environment for orchestrated social unrest than at any other time in history. Add to that an elected president with a communist heritage who launched his political career in the Ayers/Dohrn household, the timing is anything but coincidental, and the path to chaos should be quite clear.

Buckle up, America. It’s going to be a very long, hot summer. Doug Hagmann & Joseph Hagmann Tuesday, February 7, 2012

by USMC Retired Maj. L. Caudill

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year-old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang-banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunken guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations. These are the people who think that we’d be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only true if the mugger’s potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat – it has no validity when most of a mugger’s potential marks are armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that’s the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there’s the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks or stones don’t constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that’s as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply wouldn’t work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn’t both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don’t do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I’m looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don’t carry it because I’m afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn’t limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation … and that’s why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

Medicaid Petition Update
–The deadline for signatures has been moved to the end of February.
–The “Opt Out Plan” has been added to the text of the original petition.

NYSAC is the originator of this petition. See link below. According to NYSAC,
“The bill’s passage would ensure New York’s Medicaid program becomes fiscally sustainable over the long run and would hold State lawmakers accountable for their program decisions to expand the size and scope of Medicaid. The State takeover of county Medicaid costs will lead to lower property taxes. This will directly enhance New York’s economic competitiveness and improve economic opportunities for all New Yorkers”

For all intents and purposes, the passage of A2285 and S1813, which is the “opt out bill” allowing counties to determine what benefits they will provide, is a more “practical” solution to resolving the the enormous economic burden of Medicaid and property taxes in NYS, as it would not rely upon faulty federal health care reforms to cover New Yorkers, as well as providing individual accountability at the county level.

Unfortunately, Change.org doesn’t recognize me any more and won’t answer my inquiries, so I am unable to post this information as an update on the petition itself! But we still need as many signatures as we can muster up, so please sign it and pass it along: TEANewYork: Shift the burden of Medicaid costs from the Counties to the State.

New Gerrymandered Districts
“What can I say, this is one of the most disgusting attempts at gerrymandering a district since we were stuck with Louise Slaughter. Problem is for Grisanti is, they left him with Grand Island…”

“I have a feeling that we will not see primaries this year. Redistricting fought in court then early primary date, all this is doing is dragging out the process then we will hear from them that there is no time for petitions, so their will be no chance of challenging them in a new early primary. They know that the senate is vulnerable this year and will try to block any and all challenges to their power. We will be blocked out of the process just like here in Erie County last year.”

Georgia citizens today [27Jan2012] delivered sworn testimony to a court that Barack Obama is slam-dunk disqualified from having his name on the 2012 presidential ballot in the state, because his father never was a U.S. citizen, which prevents him from qualifying as a “natural-born citizen” as the U.S. Constitution requires for a president….

by Jul Thompson

The State of New York has the most dysfunctional Legislature of all the 50 states. One need not look any further for evidence of that beyond the fact that we have simultaneously, among the highest overall tax burdens and highest poverty rates of anywhere in the nation. With the egregious amount the average taxpayer pays, our streets should be lined with gold. Or flowers. But certainly not trash, and pockmarked with potholes you can drive a small truck into.

The state faces a $9 billion deficit, yet somehow, some way, every bit of revenue the State manages to raise through siccing IRS agents on restaurants to invent overblown receipts, or taxing the air we breathe, gets funneled into the black hole of Albany’s General Fund. Where I live on Grand Island, I have to pay a toll to get home every day. The bridges were paid for by 1963 with these tolls. Yet violating its agreement, New York State, through the Thruway Authority, continues to collect $30 million annually on the Grand Island bridges alone. $20 million goes to pay for some road repair (however substandard and impermanent), the salaries and generous benefits of toll collectors, and $10 million is profit. In the last ten years alone, NYS has profited over $100 million, yet just two years ago, NYS HAD TO BORROW EVERY LAST CENT OF THE $54 MILLION IT TOOK TO REPAIR THE BRIDGES, at your expense. Where did that money go?

We’re triple taxed on gasoline, which means we pay more here than just about anywhere. The supplier is taxed at the source and passes that along to the consumer, we’re taxed at the pump and of course, we’re taxed at the tolls. We have three tolls within about a 30 mile radius, the 190 being the only road off the mainline Thruway (aside from New York City bridges) that has commuter taxes — and we would have four, if not for Carl Paladino’s success at getting rid of the Black Rock tolls.

We have the highest utility rates of anywhere in the nation, yet if I stand on my tippy toes, I can see the mist from Niagara Falls, probably the largest natural power generating source in the world.

We are getting crushed under the burden of exorbitant tax rates, and since manufacturing and other viable business entities have left, finding greens and lovely pastures elsewhere, essentially the only employment here for the average worker is in the low-paying service industry.

And now, the people who are responsible for this ridiculously oppressive tax burden that places a huge segment of our population below the poverty limits, want to give themselves a pay raise, again, at your expense.

Our legislators receive $79.500.00 a year as a base salary. For each committee seat they receive an additional $10,000.00. Committee chairmanships get something like another $20,000.00, and many of our legislators engage in the unethical practice of double-dipping — receiving a salary for a current position while collecting a pension on a previous publicly-funded job.

STOP THE MADNESS. Stop the open-borders policy, that vacuums out the wallets of hard-working NewYorkers with the Cadillac of healthcare going to illegals and non-residents — from a Medicaid program fraught with massive waste and abuse. Get rid of the bloomin’ idiot NYC Mayor Bloomberg, who has invited non-residents and illegals to Come! Get onto our very generous Welfare rolls! Stop spending our money on cosmetics. Stop spending. Stop hiring new government workers. Stop looking for new revenue streams. Stop chasing away our children and grandchildren. Stop chasing away business with absurd taxes and regulatory demands, then blaming their greed.

And for God’s sake, stop entertaining the silly notion that you deserve a pay raise. Those are for people who do their jobs, and do them well, not for “public servants” who have been utterly derelict in their duties, and who are unrelenting in their quest to abuse the public trust.

By: Gary L Perry

I began listening to Glenn Beck when he had a limited regional radio show out of Philadelphia. His conservative rants reminded me of Howard Stern only without the sexual overtones and vulgarity.

Beck was wacky, funny and took the conservative stance on issues regarding current events. Beck’s popularity grew and he soon moved to New York with more radio stations now picking up his national show. This allowed his message to reach a much larger audience as Beck honed his skills and worked to provide his audience with information that the mainstream news media was ignoring.

Beck was then offered a one-hour commentary show on CNN Headline News (HLN) before being offered a spot on FOX News. It was during this FOX News and expanded radio audience that many of us have become regular listeners of Beck.

My daughter and I have had several opportunities to see Glenn live at his comedy/political satire shows he has done across the East Coast. Even though they did not put them on their Christmas list, my daughters can always count on Beck’s latest published books as gifts. On a few occasions I have risen early and made the 3 or 4 hour trip to see Beck at a few of his many book signing events and chatted for a few minutes with Glenn as he happily jotted down a few lines on my daughter’s next Christmas gifts.

I am a big fan of Glenn Beck, having learned much from his programs. I also appreciate the fact that Beck has been able to not only reach, but also inspire many people to become actively involved.

Glenn Beck has scheduled an event that is being billed as part of the “Restoring Love” quest. Glenn has been heavily promoting this event for the past month or so. This event is scheduled in Dallas TX July 26th thru the 28th.
Glenn Beck could not me more wrong on the timing of this event.

I appreciate what Glenn has done in the past but now question Glenn’s desired outcome of this gathering in Dallas. As many of you now know, Glenn has made Texas his new home, relocating his business from NY City and leaving his home in CT, choosing to relocate both to Texas. We have to ask ourselves why Glenn would schedule an event like this is the middle of this election year. The scheduling of this event should make you question Glenn’s true motives. The timing of this event is either selfish or there is something more going on than we understand.

We are coming into what will arguably be the most important election cycle of our lifetime and Glenn is asking citizens from across the entire country to spend time & financial resources to attend and support his event for 3 full days in Dallas, TX in July 2012.

I believe in charity and service. I have done my share and have tried to teach my daughters the value of this. My youngest has been generous with her time and money helping many during the flooding this past September. We purchased and cooked 4 whole turkeys and the complete dinner for elderly people this past Thanksgiving. My daughters and I help out here, in our local community, with our elderly neighbors and friends.

There is much service and charity that can be done right here in our local neighborhoods and communities.Perhaps if our NY TEA Parties and Liberty groups did volunteer work right here in our local communities and for our local churches we might win over more of our fellow NY citizens to our way of thinking. We could lead by example.

Spending money to travel to and stay in Dallas, TX and then volunteering in the Dallas/Fort Worth area will not help us here in NY State. Glenn has rented the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Glenn will be selling tickets for those making the trip to offset his expenses. I wish all the success to Glenn, but not this event, not at this most critical time.

I am imploring everyone who is volunteering the time and spending money to attend this event to stay in their home state and communities and to work for the candidates who best represent us “We The People” and volunteer to our local charities and churches. If there is no one running for election, speak with your friends, family, business associates and neighbors and find and support someone who best represents us.

Glenn Beck’s event is stealing our precious resources of funding and volunteer’s boots on the ground. At this most critical time in stopping this country’s march towards socialism Glenn Beck wants to take away our army and it’s weapons. We need the troops going door-to-door handing out campaign literature, discussing issues and supporting our candidates. It is always difficult to get people to go out and volunteer for our candidates during the summer months in our local communities, yet Beck calls on everyone to show up in Dallas where they had over 100 days in a row of over 100 degree temperatures.

In hindsight the timing was wrong when Glenn Beck summoned people from across the nation to go to Washington DC during the very important 2010 election. We were not presented with a “plan” nor given specific marching orders. Glenn again summoned the “troops” to support his Israel event. Glenn simply calls on us to do what is morally right. I do not need Glenn Beck to tell me to do what is morally right.

Had the time and resources that were spent on these events been instead focused on our local and state elections where our candidates lost we might have made enough of a difference in these races to push a few of these candidates over the top to a victory.

If we had not made the trip to DC in 2010 to the Beck event and instead chose to have spent the time and money traveling to our local towns and those close by supporting George Phillips, he may have won his close race against Hinchey. We could have traveled to Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and New Paltz or even spent more time in the triple cities going door to door handing out campaign literature or even volunteering to make phone calls.

We had many candidates who were not politicians. There were TEA Party candidates who needed more of our support in local elections. We know that we must win local and state elections if we are to save this state and our country.

How many of you who are making plans to travel to this event but have not yet made the effort and joined the “We the People” lobby to support a fellow NY patriot who has been fighting to hold our government to be accountable to the Constitution for many years longer than many of us have been active?

This is a long and hard fight and will take many years and many elections to take back our country. Many of my friends from across New York State lectured me on this subject during our many conversations during the busy election year of 2010.

I commend Glenn for all that he has done but I again question his motives by trying to monopolize our resources during this very critical time. Glenn has left New York State. We have not.

For one reason or another we have all stayed to work and fight to save our state. We are fighters. We are not quitters. We are not groupies.

Every Liberty group and TEA Party group say they do not want to be part of an organization nor do they want a “Leader”. Yet, when Glenn Beck says, “jump” everyone starts jumping, many without questioning why we all are jumping. We like to say that we are independent thinkers and operators. Let’s start acting like it.

In the past, many of you have called yourself an organizer. It is the time to act. Now is the time to organize. Organize like never before.

Glenn does not need my help. Nor does not need your help in the middle of this election cycle. Our candidates need our help. Whether it is campaign donations, sweat equity or just discussing the issues and candidates with our family, friends and neighbors.

Glenn has been talking the talk. Now is the time for Glenn to walk the walk, come to his senses and rescheduled his Restoring Love event for 2013. Let’s give our very best to New York State by staying here and taking the fight to the progressives.
